On the Record is a quotable news quiz, with a new quiz every weekday.
Where can I play On the Record?
On the Record can be found here.
How do I play On the Record?
Earn points by answering questions about recent events.
If you answer a question correctly on the first try, you’ll earn 6 points. A wrong answer loses you 4 points and takes you straight to multiple choice.
Weekday quizzes have one question, while weekend quizzes have ten.
How do I earn points?
Guess correctly to win points:
- Get 6 points for answering correctly on your first guess.
- Get 2 points for choosing correctly from multiple choices.
What if I need a Hint?
You can forfeit one point and choose to receive a short-answer hint. But be careful, buying the hint forfeits the multiple-choice round! You'll no longer be able to get both the short-answer and multiple-choice hints, so choose wisely!
When is there a new quiz?
A new quiz is published at midnight Eastern time.
How do I wager points?
The bonus wager question will unlock once you complete the full week.
Use the points you've accumulated from the entire week to wager on the final question. Move the slider to increase or decrease your final wager. You can risk as many points as you want, including a minimum of zero. A correct answer adds the wagered points to your score, while an incorrect answer subtracts them from your weekly total.
Miss a day? No problem! You can now play past quizzes from throughout the week.
I feel like my points are wrong.
Things that can affect your points include:
- Using a different phone, computer, or other device
- Using a different internet browser
- Using a browser inside another app, like Facebook, Twitter, etc.
- Using an ad blocker or privacy tool
To accumulate points over the week, you must use the same phone, computer, or other device, as well as the same internet browser. Examples of internet browsers include Safari, Chrome, Firefox, etc.
How can I earn a perfect score?
A perfect weekly score is 168 points.
Monday through Thursday, you can earn 6 points each day for a total of 24 points.
For the Wkd quiz, you can earn up to 60 points by answering 10 questions correctly.
After you have answered all of the questions for the week, you can wager up to 84 points on the bonus question.
Can I play past quizzes?
Yes! You can now play past On the Record games! Under the score summary section, you will find arrows next to the title "This week's game". If you click on those arrows, it will take you to the previous week's games that you are now able to play.
