There are two ways to change text size on the Washington Post website.
See below for instructions on how to increase text size on all pages by increasing your zoom level.
To change the text size without zooming into the page, you can follow the instructions further down on this page to adjust the font size in your browser. Note that this works on most of our article pages but does not yet work across all pages on our website.
Adjusting your zoom setting
iPhone/iPad

- Settings > Safari > Page Zoom (you can set your zoom level for specific websites)

Press the CMD and + keys to zoom in (and increase font size).
Press the CMD and - keys to zoom out (and decrease font size).
Windows (PC)
Press the CTRL and + keys to zoom in (and increase font size).
Press the CTRL and - keys to zoom out (and decrease font size).
Adjusting your text size only
Google Chrome
Open your settings using the keyboard shortcut command , or by selecting settings from the dropdown in the upper right corner of the browser, as shown below:
After you enter your settings, you can find a dropdown to change your default font size in the "Appearance" menu, as shown below. You should not need to refresh the page to see changes.
Safari
Open your settings using the keyboard shortcut command , or open “Safari” in the top left corner of your desktop, as shown below, and select “Settings”:
After you enter your settings, go to the “Advanced” tab and check the box that says “Never use font sizes smaller than.” Next to this text, there is a dropdown where you can select your preferred font size. Note that you can enter font sizes that aren’t shown in the dropdown. For example, “28” was typed into the box for the screenshot below, and this sets the minimum font size to 28 pixels.
Firefox
Open your settings using the keyboard shortcut command , or open the menu button in the top right corner of the browser, as shown highlighted below, and select “Settings”:
After you enter your settings, scroll down until you get to the “Fonts” section, as shown below. You can update the font size using the “Size” dropdown. After selecting a font size, you may need to refresh the Washington Post page you are reading in Firefox in order to see the new text sizing.
Edge
Open your settings using the keyboard shortcut command , or open the menu button in the top right corner of the browser, as shown highlighted below, and select “Settings”:
After you enter your settings, you can find a dropdown to change your default font size if you open the "Appearance" menu and scroll down to the bottom, as shown below. You should not need to refresh the page to see changes.
