New users
Sign in with Apple is available to any Washington Post reader creating a free account or paid subscription for the first time. New users can choose to share or hide their Apple ID email.
- On the Washington Post Sign Up page, tap the Apple sign-in button; you’ll be taken to an Apple sign-in page.
- Enter your Apple ID and password
- You may need to provide two-factor authentication. Follow the steps to complete this.
- Review the page “Sign in with Apple,” and tap Continue
- Next, you will see a page asking if you’d like to “Create an account for The Washington Post using your Apple ID”. Review the default selections
- Share my email will share your email with The Washington Post
- Hide my email will hide your email from The Washington Post and share a unique Relay Email
- Tap continue to return to washingtonpost.com.
Existing Users
To connect Sign in with Apple to an existing account or subscription, you must choose, Share my email. Your Apple ID email must match the one on your Washington Post account, or we will not be able to connect the two.
- On the Washington Post Sign Up page, tap the Apple sign-in button; you’ll be taken to an Apple sign-in page.
- Enter your Apple ID and password
- You may need to provide two-factor authentication. Follow the steps to complete this.
- Review the page “Sign in with Apple,” and tap Continue
- Next, you will see a page asking if you’d like to “Create an account for The Washington Post using your Apple ID.” You must select Share my email, and your Apple ID email must match the one on your Washington Post account.
- Tap continue to return to washingtonpost.com. Your Apple ID is now connected to your Washington Post account.
